About the Event

The migration of birds is one of the most amazing aspects of natural history! During this presentation we will explore how birds migrate to and from their breeding grounds and we will see how technology has shed new light on these awe-inspiring journeys. Learn why some birds migrate more than 20,000 miles while others may only travel several hundred miles.

The how and why of migration will be discussed using animated maps, slides, videos, and more. Speaker Dave Williams taught middle school science for 37 years. He has been bird watching for more than 45 years. He leads bird walks for the Brookline Bird Club and MA Audubon and is a past President of the Brookline Bird Club. He is a graduate of the MA Audubon Birder’s Certificate Program and has attended National Audubon’s Field Ornithology program on Hog Island, ME.

Sponsored by a generous grant from The Cummings Foundation…
